Cresson (Sawyer's Crossing) Bridge

The Cresson (also called Sawyer's Crossing) Bridge is located in Cheshire county near Swanzey crossing the Ashuelot River. The current bridge was built in 1859 at cost of $1735.94 while the original bridge was built in 1771 for a cost of 53 pounds 6 shillings. The bridge consists of two spans totaling about 159 feet built using a Town Lattice Truss with a vertical clearance of about 12 feet and posted for 3 tons. The WGCB number is 29-03-05.
